Storms have always been a sort of paradox to me. From far away they are often beautiful, presenting a wide spectrum of colors cast on billowing clouds that one can’t help but stop and stare at, while at the same time unleashing complete destruction and horror to whatever finds itself underneath. I think it is this contrast – complete calm and beauty paired with the most destructive forces on earth – that keeps drawing me back time and time again to try and photograph that paradox.
I’m Eric Anderson, a photographer based out of Omaha, Nebraska. During the spring and summer months, you can find me chasing severe storms all throughout tornado alley, from Texas into Canada, and from Colorado to Illinois. Have storms, will travel.
If you ever see me on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere be sure to stop and say hello!
